William "Harold" Harden, 81 of Robinson, IL, formerly of Rosiclare, IL and Palatine, IL, died at 4:05 a.m. Thursday, March 3, 2005 at the Long Term Care Unit of Crawford Memorial Hospital. He was born January 18, 1924 in Tolu, KY, the son of James Curtis Harden and Mary Olive Hammond Harden. He worked as a mechanic for Meyer Material in Wheeling, IL and for Alcoa Mining in Rosiclare. He served in the U. S. Army during WWII.

He married Shirley Rieke on September 27, 1944, and she survives. He is also survived by his 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Ed Massof, Washington, MI, Dolly and Roy Robinson, Robinson, and Mary Harden, Robinson; his sister, Peavy Threlkeld, Rosiclare; 5 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Pauline Franks; and a brother, Barkley Harden.

Graveside services will be conducted at the White Chapel Cemetery in rural Salem, KY at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Lawrence-Crawford Association for Exceptional Citizens.
